A Multi-Disciplinary Healthcare Provider (MDHP) offers a variety of patient services, including surgeries and non-surgical treatments.
MDHP engaged with CopperHill to leverage our integration and consulting expertise, and build a tailored solution that enhances patient care and reduces duplicate data-entry for their team.
Integrating CRM, Partner Portal, and Clinical Systems
MDHP’s project involved integrating their EMR, eClinicalWorks (eCW), with Salesforce Health Cloud and Experience Cloud.


This integration was an important part of the project to streamline clinical and administrative processes for the MDHP team, while improving the visibility of partners working closely with MDHP.
However, several obstacles arose surrounding this integration:
- EMR Structure: eCW’s non-traditional implementation of HL7 standards required customization.

Communication: Frequent back-and-forth with the EMR vendor was necessary to complete data transfer.

Timelines and Requirements: The project demanded precise alignment between technical capabilities and client needs, often requiring innovative workarounds.
Creating a Partner Portal
We partnered with MDHP to develop a portal using Salesforce Experience Cloud, providing organizations that work closely with MDHP easier access to manage cases for additional support.
The portal provides a dedicated space for the administrative team outside of the eCW, ensuring that partner teams can efficiently track and work on cases. This Integration with eCW allows for case creation and payment processing all within the same platform. Due to the sensitive nature of their business, we also implemented security measures allowing the MDHP team to control who has access to what and for how long.
The Solutions
Our team’s approach hinged on our previous experience, solution flexibility, and fluid collaboration with the MDHP team:
- Consultative Guidance: We worked closely with MDHP and eCW to bridge gaps in their current solutions and push for improvements beyond the standard technical specifications.
- Leveraging Middleware: Our middleware tool facilitated the transformation and manipulation of data formats, ensuring compatibility between the two systems.
- Record Alerts Implementation: Using Salesforce Health Cloud’s Record Alert functionality enabled the client to prioritize critical tasks efficiently.
- Focus on Reporting: We enriched administrative decision-making by integrating EMR data for reporting.
